In February of 2009, Congress passed and the President signed the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Reauthorization Act. Established in 1997, Congress created CHIP to provide insurance coverage to uninsured children in families with incomes too high for Medicaid but not high enough to afford private or employer-sponsored coverage.
Success Story: NH Voices for Health is a network of consumer and advocacy organizations and individuals allied in their commitment to secure quality, affordable health care for all in New Hampshire. NH Voices network members work tirelessly in NH and in Washington to inform policy makers on the importance of health coverage for kids.
